Breath is life. And powerful, expansive breathing is our greatest gift for transformation.
Developing this gift through breathwork is a safe and gentle process. It encourages those who work with their breathing to experience, express and release their blocked emotions. In the internal space of the breath a person finds an inner-healer in their soul who knows intuitively how to find balance and peace. People truly do have an ability to receive answers from within, improve their lives, and be free to be their authentic, vibrant selves. Using powerful breath along with sound vibration opens an internal door to a more conscious life in the present. It can release hurtful influences, traumas and stored emotions in a person’s past.
During breathwork a person accesses the theta state, where there is no veil between the conscious and unconscious mind, and where real change and awareness takes place. Once having let go of hindering blocks, the person is free to make conscious choices about current real-life issues in a holistic, previously inaccessible way.
Practicing breathing aligns a person’s thoughts and words on a superconscious level, and then allows her or him to return to the physical realm and put it into motion. Breathwork facilitates vital change, preparing fertile ground for growth, and transformation that lasts.
Clients can learn and practice breathwork in either a group setting or in a one-on-one session. Often a breathwork client uses both group retreats and private sessions to break free from old patterns and unlock his or her truest potential.
Either a group or private session begins by identifying clients’ intentions for the session. Informing this intention can be images or insights from a dream, or signs in nature experienced in the few days before the retreat.
How to breath the “breathwork breath” is discussed beforehand, as well what might be expected during the breath journey. Vibrational sounds of breathing-attuned music is played during the session. A journey can be between 30 – 50 minutes long. Every person has a personal space in which to freely move, laugh, cry, dance, do whatever arises.
When the journey is complete, participants create artwork through drawing, coloring, and/or writing their experience. Each person, whether in a group or private session, then has an opportunity to share about their experience in a safe, sacred, non-judgemental setting.
